Highlights
ICL was founded in 1968 by the Israeli government and has been controlled by Israel Corp. since 1995. ICL, whose shares are included in the TASE 25-Index, is the second largest company listed on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE: ICL) in terms of market capitalization.*
ICL benefits from its direct access to abundant raw materials, relatively low production and shipping costs and significant intra-company synergies made possible through the extensive vertical integration of its operations. It has established a leading market position for a diverse range of products in fast-growing regions throughout the world, positioning the company favorably in all types of business environments and cycles.
The company is comprised of three core segments:
ICL Fertilizers - one of the world’s largest producers of potash and an integrated producer of a variety of products based on phosphate rock, including phosphate fertilizers, phosphoric acid and specialty fertilizers.
ICL Industrial Products - a world leader in the production of bromine-based and phosphorus-based flame retardants (”FRs”) and a variety of bromine compounds.
ICL Performance Products - the world's leading producer of specialty phosphates based on purified and thermal phosphoric acid for a wide range of markets.
ICL is also 50% owner of I.D.E. Technologies Ltd., a recognized leader in the delivery of engineered water treatment and desalination solutions.
Since acquiring its stake in ICL, ICL's management has simplified its structure, sold non-core assets, diversified its product lines with higher-priced downstream products, expanded its manufacturing, marketing and logistics capabilities, and acquired complementary companies. The result has been the creation of significant value as ICL has delivered steady growth in revenues and profitability.
